Technology business leader Andrew Grove dominated almost 90% of the world’s market of microprocessors through the creation of Intel Corporation.

Intel reached its towering heights during Grove’s reign with total earnings of $115 billion, beating all other competitors in the same industry.

Andrew Grove – Technology and Management Expert Rolled into One

A graduate of Chemical Engineering from the City College of New York, Grove continued his education at the University of California in Berkeley and earned his Ph.D. in 1963. He then joined Fairchild Semiconductor and eventually became its Assistant Director for Research and Development by 1967.

After a year, Grove worked at Intel Corporation as one of its first few employees. He acquired top-level management positions such as President in 1979, Chief Executive officer in 1987, and Chairman CEO in 1997. Grove tendered his title as CEO and Chairman by 1998 and 2005, respectively.

Having conquered the computer and electronics industry, Grove penetrated the academe as a lecturer, teaching physics in graduate school. He wrote several technical papers and books that were widely used among universities in the United States.

Grove authored a book entitled ‘Swimming Across‘, his autobiography, in 2001. ‘High Output Management’ and ‘Only the Paranoid Survive‘ are just two of Grove’s self-written management books. Grove also acquired several patents for technology and semiconductor devices that he innovated.
