As an urban planner, your main function is to look for improvements and community needs. You’ll be doing a lot of research and create plans. You’ll also work towards getting these plans approved.
Many times you may work for months on a project only to have it declined by city council or the public.
Some Duties You’ll Attend to Are:
Meeting with public officials, developers, and even attend public meetings for planning and feedback for current and future developments.
You’ll need to be doing research and gathering data regarding the census, the market and economic, environmental, and feasibility studies.
You must perform field investigation to get an inside view of the real issues you need to into look into.
You must plan for community needs
You must review the plans developers create and make recommendations.
